Giving Tree

For many years, Cathedral parishioners have provided a brighter Christmas for families in need. They choose to follow a great Christian tradition of aiding struggling brothers and sisters, especially during the holy seasons of Advent and Christmas.
Each year in the month of October, Cathedral families or friends in need of assistance over the holiday can register at the Cathedral office to be a recipient of the Giving Tree.
Beginning the first week of Advent, a tree is placed in the Cathedral adorned with stars that represent specific needs. Parishioners take stars from the tree, committing to provide the present as printed on the star. Some stars are financial offerings; others are toys or basic needs for children and struggling moms and dads.
Once the items are collected, volunteers sort, wrap, and box the gifts for delivery. More volunteers then deliver the packages to the families in need.
